As discussed in my previous post, one of the things I am most passionate about is clearing. I believe clearing can be done on all levels, including physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
On a physical level there are many things we can do to clear our bodies, homes and lifestyles which all have a big impact on our mental and spiritual health. Whether we realise it or not, the things we consume and the beauty products we use affect our body on all levels. Our home, local environment and the cleaning products we use also affect our health and state of mind.
Unfortunately, there are a lot of toxic metals and micro plastics that have been put into so many of the products we use and consume on a daily basis, not to mention pollution in the air, glysophate being sprayed on our streets to kill weeds and chemtrails being sprayed in the sky.
We can’t avoid everything. I think we would go insane trying to and would want to live in a bubble lol. But we can make small changes on a regular basis to increase our physical health. The key is not to overwhelm yourself. Just change one thing at a time. I am still transitioning many of the products I use slowly as I learn more.
Below are some of the tips I have been using in my daily life to help clear my home, life and body;
Decluttering and Spring Cleaning
Decluttering your wardrobe, house, car and handbag can actually have a huge impact on your mental health and spiritual health. Chaos, mess and clutter is very stressful to be around. Trying to find your keys in the morning as you rush out the door is the last thing you need. The two most important things I have learned from reading decluttering books is to have a home for everything and to let go of things that don’t make you feel good. We often hold on to things that we don’t actually like out of guilt or obligation because it was given to us by someone in particular or because it belonged to someone we loved who is no longer with us. But everything has energy, and if we don’t like something that we see in our home or garden every day it actually brings down our vibration. Let go of the guilt and let go of the things around your home that don’t serve you or bring you joy. When we do this we make room for wonderful new things to come in to our life!

Exercise
You may love or hate exercise, but exercise is actually a very powerful way to move toxins out of your body and to release negative emotions. When we exercise we naturally increase the amount of oxygen we breathe in, allowing our cells to regenerate. When we breathe out we release carbon dioxide, toxins and waste. Our heart rate, blood circulation and sweat production also increases, which all assist the body in removing toxins. Exercise helps to improve our digestion and elimination process which increases the amount of waste our body gets rid of. Exercise is also great for our mental health because it reduces stress and releases the ‘feel good hormones’ serotonin, endorphins and dopamine. This is why you feel so good after making your body move and it can actually become addictive!
Massaging
Our muscles actually hold a lot of suppressed emotions and memories, so a therapeutic way to clear the body and release built up emotions is to either get a massage or do one yourself. Aryuveda (an amazing ancient healing modality) recommends self massaging your entire body with oils such as sesame, castor, coconut, and almond oils which all have incredible health benefits. If the idea of oils is a bit too messy for you, don’t let that put you off. A simple 5-10 minute dry massage with your clothes on can do the trick. Starting at your scalp work your way down to your toes massaging your entire body. This can also be a great opportunity to practice some self love and gratitude thinking about all of the things you love and appreciate about your body!
Dry Skin Brushing
Similar to giving yourself a massage, dry skin brushing is a great way to detoxify your body. Using a soft, natural bristle brush to brush in a circular motion, starting at your hands and feet moving towards your heart. Regular skin brushing can help stimulate the lymphatic system, which is very important in removing toxins and waste from the body. This can help reduce inflammation and promote overall detoxification as well as improving blood circulation, which can help deliver nutrients to the skin and promote a healthy glow. Some people even claim that skin brushing can help break up cellulite deposits and improve the appearance of dimpled skin. Regardless of whether or not it gets rid of cellulite, skin brushing is very relaxing and therapeutic, helping to reduce stress and promote a sense of well-being.

Supplements
Below are the supplements that I take on a daily basis to help support and detox my body. I highly recommend all of them.
- MasterPeace is the best heavy metal detox on the market! It is a unique detox product because the zeolites have been broken down to a minuscule size allowing it to reach the tiniest parts of our body to clear micro plastics, metals and other toxins. Find out more here.
- Activated Charcoal is good for so many things from detoxification to teeth whitening. It absorbs all of the excess acid in our stomachs so is the best solution for nausea, heartburn, digestion and clearing toxins out of the body.
- Triphala is an amazing blend of three different fruits; Amla or Indian Gooseberry, Haritaki and Bibhitaki that are beneficial for all three doshas in the ancient Indian philosophy of Aryuveda. It helps to cleanse and support our digestive system.
- Prebiotic Fibre is important because it helps moves waste out of the colon whilst feeding and supporting healthy gut bacteria at the same time.
- Salt and Bicarb Soda are a great way to detox the body, clean out your bowels, rehydrate the body, release water tension and alkalise your body.
- Bentonite Clay works by binding and removing toxins and heavy metals from the digestive tract. It remineralises and detoxifies the skin. It has an alkalising effect on the body and helps to balance gut bacteria.
- Diatomaceous Earth improves gut health and increases nutrient absorption. It cleanses the digestive system by removing internal toxins, impurities and parasites whilst leaving behind important minerals such as calcium, zinc, magnesium, silica and iron. It also has anti-aging properties!
*I personally have 1/4 of a tsp of Pink Himalayan Salt and 1/4 tsp of Bicarb Soda in warm water first thing it the morning on an empty stomach. Then around 20 mins later I have 1 tsp of Diatomaceous earth and 1 tsp of Bentonite clay in a glass of coconut water. I have been doing this every morning for around 2 and half years and highly recommend it for cleaning out your digestive system.
Herbs and Foods
According to Tyler Tolman’s blog post on parasite cleansing, he explains how cloves, wormwood and black walnut husk can all help to kill parasites in the gut. Cloves actually kill the eggs as well as the adults. These herbs are best consumed as a tea on a daily basis with honey. He explains that honey, pumpkin seeds and papaya seeds are all anti-parasitic. You can read the full blog here. Raw garlic, pomegranates, barberry, beets and carrots have also traditionally been used to kill parasites in the body.
Reducing Meat Consumption
I personally believe that modern society consumes way too much meat on a daily basis and it is not sustainable. There are certain spots in the world where people live to 100 years old and are known as The Blue Zones, (Netflix has a great miniseries about The Blue Zones). In the blue zones and even before World War II, meat was more of a garnish rather than the main star of the meal like it is in most western cultures today. By reducing the amount of meat we eat, we can help reduce the amount of parasites living in our gut. According to Dr Zach Busch, meat can take around 14 hours to digest, whereas a plant based meal takes around 90mins. That is a huge difference! The longer meat sits in our gut the more time parasites have to multiply. Parasites have a very negative effect on our gut health, contributing to mental health issues like depression and anxiety. I personally tend to have chicken or fish a couple of times a week. I have never been a big meat eater and have been vegetarian on and off for years. But I tend to stay away from fake meat products because they are very processed and who knows what is in them. Lentils, legumes, beans, potatoes, pumpkin, and mushrooms are a much better alternative and they do actually have enough protein in them. To learn more about the Myths of Protein, watch this video.

Detoxing and Fasting
There are many types of fasting that can be done on a regular basis to give your body a break and a chance to heal. Even just having a short break from coffee, alcohol, meat or sugar for a few days can give your body a chance to get back into balance. You don’t have to deprive yourself of anything forever. Just give your body a small vacation to rejuvenate itself. You can start with a short amount of time such as 12 or 24hrs and increase it each time you detox or fast. Do keep in mind that when you fast or detox you may get some withdrawal symptoms as your body is cleaning itself out. These can include headaches, nausea and cold and flu symptoms. Taking some extra vitamins and activated charcoal during this time will be of great benefit (just take the charcoal on an empty stomach at a different time to other supplements as it can affect the absorption of medications and supplements because the charcoal absorbs everything in your stomach). The benefits from detoxing and fasting are so amazing, you will be so glad you did.
Types of Detoxing and Fasting
- Water fasting involves literally consuming only water for 1-3 days. Herbal teas and broths can be included to help keep your electrolyte levels up. If you want to try more than three days, please consult a professional who can assist and monitor you.
- Juice fast – juicing is amazing! I highly recommend you check out Don Tolman, Tyler Tolman and Joe the Juicer to learn more about the benefits of Juice fasting.
- Intermittent fasting is an easy way to get the body used to fasting and is a great starting point. There are many apps that can help you, and I recommend the book Fast This Way by David Asprey, he has some amazing tips to help you fast.
- Detoxing usually involves cutting out processed foods, sugar, meat and dairy for a period of time to clean out your body. You could do this for one week or several months or years!
- Salt baths with some essential oils are a wonderful way to relax and remove toxins from your body through your skin.
- Castor oil can be taken in the morning before eating anything. Just stay home because it will clean out and empty your bowels! Also, castor oil can be massaged onto your entire body and left on for 15-60 mins, once a week. Starting with 15 mins the first time. Then shower. This detoxes the entire body and helps you to have the best sleep!
I know there are many other ways to clear on a physical level. As I learn more things I will add them to this page. Please feel free to share any clearing techniques you know of or your experiences in the comments below. I hope this has been helpful. My next post will continue about clearing by covering how to clear on the mental level.
